Rejecting fat prejudice, fighting the media’s body shaming, and changing the world by loving your body, on Episode 15 of the Bawdy Love Podcast.
Tucson native Jes Baker worked in mental health and went to school for art before stumbling upon body activism through a blog. It was a “happy accident,” she says, that inspired her to create her internationally recognized blog, The Militant Baker. Through that medium, she has inspired countless people to leave their perceptions of beauty and worth at the door, and instead value themselves for who they are right now.
In this episode, we discuss the many projects Jes has done to disrupt the idea of the acceptable body. We also talk about her new book, Things No One Will Tell Fat Girls, that details Jes’ experiences in body love, as well as those of a diverse group of guest writers.
